ＲＣ造３階建ての３階部分の美容室の改修になります。

渋谷区桜丘町ではその名の通り桜や丘が多く、この美容室からも桜を眺めることができます。

そこで、周辺環境の要素を取り込みつつ、美容室で必ず行う行為からデザインすることにしました。

まずは、いくつかの椅子のなかから自分の好きな椅子を選びます。どれも施主の拘り抜いた椅子のセレクションで座り心地が良いものを集めました。

美容室ではいつもあるカットスペースからシュンプースペースへの往復。シャンプースペースでは設備配管を逃がすための段差がありがちですが、ここでは段差ではなく登りたくなる「丘」を設えました。床を継ぎ目なく一体に成形することで、ワンルームの広さを獲得したまま景色に変化を与えます。

鏡を見ることも美容室の特徴的な行為です。鏡の一部を切欠くようにしたり、コンクリートに鏡だけが刺さっているようしたり、どれもお店の名前の頭文字「L」の形をしています。切り欠く比率にもお店の名前である数字が使われています。意味のなさそうなところに内包される意味。

遮るものが何もない部屋と、鏡で反転する景色と、どこにいても感じられる桜の木と小さな丘。

美容室独自の行為やものに小さなきっかけをデザインすることで、心地よい美容室を目指しました。

This is a hair salon renovation project located on the third floor of a three-story RC building.

The place is Sakuragaoka-cho, Shibuya-ku, and as the name suggests, there are many cherry blossoms and hills, so you can enjoy a view of cherry blossoms in full bloom in the spring season from the salon.

At first, we’re thinking about the actions that we generally do in a hair salon, and then, we decided to incorporate elements of the surrounding environment into the act of the hair salon.

First step - chairs with various design tastes- , we allowed the client to choose their favorite one from a number of chairs. The owner has a very particular sense of making a selection of chairs that are comfortable to sit in and also make the client feel first joy during this time.

We generally experience going back and forth between the cutting space and the shampoo space in a hair salon. In the shampoo space, it is hard to avoid making steps to escape the equipment piping, and inevitably, we feel like the space is divided into two rooms by this visual barrier. Thus, we have created a “Hill” that makes you want to climb up instead of an inevitable step in this shampoo area. By forming the floor seamlessly together, the view is varied while still acquiring the spaciousness as a single space.

Looking in the mirror for a long time is another characteristic behavior we experience in a hair salon. So we use this as one of the design triggers. Some parts of the mirror are cut out, or they are stuck in the concrete as fragments, all of which have the shape of the initial letter “L” of the salon’s name. The number which is the name of the salon is also used for the fragment ratio. Meaning implied in a meaningless place.

The room had no barrier, the view reversed by the mirror, and the cherry blossoms and tiny hills that can be felt everywhere. We aimed to create unique acts and fragments of a hair salon by designing small triggers for this hair salon’s own beautiful philosophy.
